The You Can Salsa Competition was created to bring dancers together in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment.

This event is all about:

who can compete?

This competition is open to all students and amateur dancers. You can participate if:

  • You love salsa
  • You want to challenge yourself
  • You are at least 16 years old
  • You do not dance professionally

Professionals — defined as dancers who earn or previously earned income from teaching or performing salsa — are not eligible to compete.

All levels are welcome.

 
 
 
 

THE TWO EVENTS

Your $97 registration covers both. Compete in one or both:

Rueda de Casino

(Team Event)

Bring your own team of three to six couples.
No team? You compete in Pro-Am only.

Pro-Am

(Four Divisions)

Follow or Lead, Newcomer or Open.
You dance with a professional. The pro is not scored.

Newcomer or Open?

Newcomer means this is your very first competition.
Open means you have competed before.
After you register, we confirm whether you follow or lead and place you in your division.

Every Pro-Am competitor dances with a professional. Here is how it works:

âś” You will be assigned a Pro partner if you do not already have one
âś” The pro is not scored, you are.
âś” Rueda de Casino is optional, and teams are organized by the dancers

Your $97 registration covers your entry into:

  • Rueda de Casino (team event, optional)
  • One Pro-Am division, with a Pro partner

    That is it. No add-ons, no surprises.
Just you, the floor, and the crowd.
